Staff
The core team of Chaitanya includes trained mental health Professionals like Psychiatric Social Workers, Resident Doctors, Psychiatrists, General Physicians, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Nurses. A team of Residential Psychiatric Social Workers with Masters Degree in Psychiatric Social Work (MSW) take care of the psychosocial management aspects with the day-to-day activities of the centre. Psychiatrists, house doctors and the trained Psychiatric Nurses are there to carry out the Pharmacological intervention and Medical management. Beside this adequate number of visiting Medical and Paramedical specialists, Staff Assistants, Administrative staff, Cooks, Home Nurses and other Housekeeping supportive Staff are there to make the day-to-day function of the centre systematic and effective.
Training
Chaitanya provides training for volunteers and professionals to work with the mentally ill. Various University Departments, from different parts of the country have been sending their students to Chaitanya for clinical exposure, concurrent and block field work placements. Students can send their requests for undergoing training/fieldwork through their respective Departments to Chaitanya. Accommodation, food and training will be provided at Rs. 150/-per head, per day. Chaitanya Mental Health Care Centre would soon be starting a basic and advanced Diploma and Degree course in Community based Psychosocial Rehabilitation to create a cadre of Rehabilitation Professionals, catering to the treatment needs of the mentally ill.
